PLACES TO VISIT

The Belvedere, Church of Notre-Dame des Issambres in the Provençal village, the new port with its pleasure and fishing boats, the Roman fishpond and the archaeological remains.

Les Issambres is convenient for visiting the glamorous coastal resorts of the French Riviera and the picturesque inland villages of Provence.

 

Places to visit: Roquebrune-sur-Argens and its thousand-year-old walled town.
Cogolin (15 km), capital of craft industries with its pipe and carpet factories. A sailor’s town with various museums (Raimu Museum, the "Musée des Empreintes et Tradition").

Ste Maxime (8 km), one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Mediterranean coast with its Phonograph Museum, the Tour Carrée and the Museum of Local Traditions as well as a casino and a golf course.

Chic Saint Tropez (23 km) with its wide abundance of designer shops, restaurants, pavement cafes and artists. Also visit its L’Annonciade art museum and the naval museum in the Citadel.

The lakeside pile dwellings of Port Grimaud (French 'Little Venice'), Grimaud and its Museum of Popular Art (17 km), La Croix Valmer and its coastal path (15 km).

 

On the coast are Cannes, Nice, Monaco and the lively holiday resorts of Frejus and St Raphael.

Just inland are the old hilltop towns and villages of Gassin, Ramatuelle and Roquebrune.

Well worth a visit is the Grand Canyon du Verdon which may not be as large as the Grand Canyon in America but is similarly impressive.

ACTIVITIES

There are two water theme parks nearby - Aquatica at Frejus and Aqualand at Ste Maxime.

Sail-boarding, water skiing and jet-ski hire are available along the coast.

There are tennis courts and crazy golf at the bottom of the hill.

There are several golf courses within easy reach.
